What’s For Breakfast?

The most important meal of the day and you can’t think of what to eat! I’ve put together a few ideas based on the particular diet or eating regimen you may be following. These are all quick, easy and perfect for on the go.

Paleo Diet – Hard boiled eggs – easy to take with you breakfast. It really doesn’t get much easier than a meal with it’s own container . . . or shell! 😉

Food Combining – Spinach and egg omelet. Literally takes minutes to make and eat. Get everything together the night before, store in the frig and pour into a pan in the morning.

Dairy Free – Any fresh fruit or fruit juice or oatmeal with almond milk (or rice, soy, etc), sliced apples and cinnamon.  This is easy to make and you can put it in a small coffee cup with a flip lid and eat it on the go!

Ancient-Harvest-Quinoa-FlakesGluten Free  – Quinoa porridge (*recipe below*) using quinoa flakes (I prefer Ancient Harvest). It’s high in protein and essential amino acids like lysine, which is essential for tissue growth and repair. Simply cook quinoa according to package instructions, but substitute milk for water, and add some cinnamon or nutmeg instead of salt and pepper. Top with fresh berries and chopped roasted nuts.

** Recipe:

In a small – medium saucepan, heat 1 cup of almond milk (do not boil). Pour in 3/4 cup flakes. Mix until the flakes have soaked up the milk, this only takes a couple of minutes. Adjust milk to get desired consistency. Top with any of your favorites ie: fresh or frozen fruit, cinnamon, honey, etc.  Yum!
